Writings and musings on the eccentric beauty of sacrifice. Come journey and write with us. We are family and friends resolved to capture something positive in a troubled world and laugh when we can along the way. This, then, is dedicated in Loving Memory to LCpl. Aaron C. The Marine Flag
Wrong. The 2 Marine flags are there.
Next?
would it be New Mexico?
By the way, your son was a great young man and his sacrifice will be remembered by those of us who understand and know what these young men and women are doing for this great country. I am sorry for your loss, but just know that your son was greatly appreciated. He died a hero.
Thank you so much for such a beautiful comment.
And you're wrong, but thanks for trying!
Texas flags???
THE WINNER!!! AND POSTED LIKE A TRUE TEXAN!! Now I have to think of something for you to win!! lol!
Doug had 2 replacements ready to put out there, but I forgot to bring them with me.
At the Silver Star ceremony, SgtMaj Skiles took a Texas flag and later gave it to Carlos Gomez at his own Silver Star presentation.
But Doug keeps 2 US, 2 Marine and 2 Texas flags. Balance, balance, balance!
woohoo! :::doing the winner dance::: Tell you what, the next time you come to town, I'll get you a couple of Texas flags. Steven's been wanting one too, so I need to go look for some anyway.
HEEEHAAWWW! There's a flag store in Amarillo, but nothing like that here. Wal Mart has the U.S. and little else. Two people have given us a Marine flag, and I gave Aaron's Texas flag to Eric. Tonya once kept me hooked up in them, but not lately, so I'll definitely take you up on your offer!
What a beautiful and peaceful place. What does the bench say? I can only read the dates and I think it says silver star.
PS. I knew it was Texas flags (smirk)
And a well deserved smirk it is from another Texan. Don't all Texans smirk? You know, I am native Texan myself and with a whole family still there... well, we have our smirks down. Tonya is the very BEST.lol!
I know that me and Chantal have been talking about it for a while. But seeing that place makes me want to come out and visit you and AARON a WHOLE BUNCH more :-(. Deffinatly would have to spend some alone time there. Anyway, if we can ever figure something out you'll be the first to know mom. :-P, MUCH LOVE
We would just love that, David. Really. Anytime. There's plenty of room and the family would treat you right! You guys can sleep in Aaron's room. It's not sad to be in there and his actual mattress was a waterbed mattress that is gone, but his Marine stuff is all in there.
I know it would help any of you to spend some time there, David. Doug goes every week and will always live near. He will also be buried next to him there. (I sit on Doug's spot and smoke :) he knows), but yes, do come. It's never failed to be good for me. Make sure to come before cold weather sets in up in the Panhandle!
