Virgie Bell's View: Peanuts

I am happy to declare to the world that I am now back to embroidering cup towels by hand in the grand tradition that was taught to me by my Mama Curry. I need for Tonya to let me know if I sent Shanda a set. I think I did, but anyway, I need her to let me know for sure. Then I will do Cliff’s daughter and start on Cretia's, which will occupy the rest of my life, unless she can talk to her girls and make them less prolific about making babies. That will take care of my immediate family. I will of course have to then do some for Jerry's family. I do enjoy this relaxing little hobby. I know there are machines that do fast and elaborate jobs with embroidery machines but I find something so relaxing about setting in my rocking chair with the old silver hoop that my mother gave me when I was still only a very little girl. It was not until I spent those two weeks with Mama Curry that this became a very essential part of my relaxation. I would just love to be able to sort of kill time with my eye more or less on world events, and finish a cup towel every couple of days. You see I have no Grande ambitions to be met in my life at this time. I will tell on the politicians and there various little speeches. Today I will tell on Mr. Jimmy Carter.

Mother loved Jimmy Carter, but then she loved all democratic contenders which included Jesse Jackson. I did vote for Jimmy Carter and what a poor pitiful state he led us into. The Embassy in Iran was considered American soil. I don't know if it was his idea or wife Rosalind who decided to just let our citizens be held captives foe such a long time. It does seem that he is among the most hen pecked man in the world. I wish his wife had said, "Look you whoosh, get your scared little peace loving hiney out there and get our citizens back. If you don't then you will be responsible for this country to look as if no matter what we will look as if we will never raise a hand in our defense". I think when all is said and done we will find Rosalind was really running the country. To the best of my understanding the Democratic Party never for a minute felt any warm feelings for this man from Georgia. He was a pretty good peanut farmer and also a good Sunday School Teacher. He quit his regular church when they declared the men of the home to be the head of the house. Goes to show we may have been just a tad off in thinking he would run the head office of our United States of America. We did not know at the time, so maybe we can be excused. But there is nothing we can contribute to Jimmy Carter as greatness. Now it turns out that he is anti-Semitic and very judgmental. I am afraid that when the tale is told in history he will hold the title of the absolute worst president this nation has ever known. Run away inflation. captured citizens, high gas prices. Oh, he won the Noble Peace Prize, which of course will make us wonder for the rest of our lives if it is a disgrace to win in the first place. Oh well I am going to leave now for going to the grocery store, eating out and going to the show. I just wish we all had have done something constructive like that when we were all in the voting booth pulling the plug on peace forever more in the Middle East. Brother Billy was entertaining at least, so look at the silver lining. (Talk about grasping at straws!)

Mom can't get comments on her computer, but yes, she does those too. She does all kinds. I have birds with the days of the week.

I remember the little chore girls with days of the week; really, wives I guess, huh? :) doing laundry, ironing, baking, etc. My grandmother had those. I love them!
