The Gentle Giant

Jerry was raised in a small town called Morton, TX and was born in an even smaller town known as Enochs, TX. Small town values have always been a part of Jerry's life. He is the Gentle Giant. I'm not sure exactly how tall Jerry is or how much he weighs, but he does wear something like a size 13-1/2 shoe.
My stepdad does not have children of his own, but he treats me, Lisa and Gary as if we are his. He means a lot to me, and I'm always busy with his wife when I'm over there, so I know I don't let Jerry know often enough how much he means to this family. Surely he knows, but it's nice to be told.

Jerry's favorite shop. "BAIT"

These are the size plates of food he makes us when we're out fishing and camping with him. They're cafeteria trays! He pretty much does ALL the cooking. No one else can pick up his pans!

The best people God ever put on this planet were bred and born in the country...and the busiest. That's what keeps everyone happy and content, and very young at heart.

Good folks, De'on, and may you all have a blessed Sunday and many years of being together.

Thank you so much, for this post, and the related ones, has brought back such good and dear memories of many of my late relatives.

Also, thank you for the recipe a few scrolls down. It sounds terrific as is, but I think I'll try adding a few dried cranberries and a handful of walnuts...or not, I haven't decided. Take care.

I love this post! Jerry sounds like such a great guy. My stepdad is one of my heroes too. Aren't we blessed to have such great men in our lives?

Jerry is the best. And you're right about being blessed, SFM.

So wonder which way Deborah went with the recipe?

Thanks for your comments, and the memories are precious, aren't they?

I used to live in Muleshoe -- I know where Enochs is located. Also Needmore.
