Virgie Bell's View: In the company of liars

If we thought a $400 haircut was over the top for John Edwards, what about $1200.00 for a haircut? Yes, John Edwards again. Seems he paid his stylist that much to hang around in case he needed a little touch up here or there. John and Elizabeth Edwards are the biggest fakes that have come along in politics in a long time. That is a very broad statement I know, when you consider what we have in the way of fakes. They hold a level of greed that surpasses anything I have ever witnessed in my entire life. A recently built home costing $6,000,000.00 with a span of 29,000 sq. feet. This for a family of one set of parents, and three children, one of which who does not even live at home, but is away at college. He actually used Danny Glover to introduce to a pocket of voters. Danny Glover who is covert to Hugo Chavez who asked of the world community to just let him know if they wanted to declare an all out war with the United States, and his country would join the fight against us.

Edwards, sadly, is a man running for President of this country, and he has no better sense than to pull an act as outrageous as that. The more I observe Elizabeth, the more strengthened is my opinion that she is not a victim of recurrent cancer. Take a look at the old gal and you can see she is more than thriving. Then look at Fred Thompson or Tony Snow and you see the ravages the disease has wrought.

Not so long ago, there was an actress who used to play on Three's Company. The blonde really sexy one. In the years since that program, she has written several books on something about using natural hormones and exercise and we could all look just like her (as if) ... she claimed that all of these things about her were perfectly natural things, needing no Liposuction, etc. She was caught later coming out the back way of one of those clinics that specialize in just that process. She had a book coming out at the same time and was making the talk show rounds to promote the self-help claim ...well, she got caught, so what did she do? Claimed that she was a victim of cancer, which she was fighting with supplements. That is crazy I said to myself. Do something ... fast. The host of the show did the thing that we all would do in such a case, forgave her and wished her well. Her book, of course, sold like hot cakes. I know of those who have bought it and used the exercises and food tips etc., and not for a minute even came close to her looks after faithfully following her instructions. These same people have finally walked away in defeat because they were such dogs that could never achieve what was promised. Failure again. Well, Susan Summers just continued to thrive ... cancer and all.

Nothing has ever been brought out about her claim that she was a victim of cancer whose never even been sick a day. It's been a year or two since she made that claim and she has more books out and makes the rounds on the talk shows. No one who is on the air is stupid enough to call her on it. You don't do that to victims of cancer. I wouldn’t have the guts to do it myself if Steve Ramos had not proven what one could gain by claiming they have cancer. I speak of this in the first person from experience. I did have cancer...years ago.... Never felt one thing wrong, but the result was that I had emergency surgery. By the grace of God, I walked away with nothing more than a radical hysterectomy. That was decades ago. Everyone who has this dreaded disease does not walk away without fighting it. It leaves scars to remind you that it came calling, and has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with bravery. Courage helps in anything as far as attitude, but doesn't do any good in combating the disease itself. After all, what else can you do but face it? No choice, none. There are some things that are just human nature. At least, they are to me. I find that I love and pray for these victims and if they are my loved ones, I cry and beg God ... please ... please ... please. I lose sleep and I am easily weepy. The loved ones of the victims suffer greatly. What Steve Ramos did was unforgivable. To thrust that kind of suffering on another and be lying about it makes him the scum of the earth.

Susan Summers was lying. Had to in order to sell her book. You could say I abhor her for that. The thing I really had never thought of was that to people like Edwards, this is a block of votes. The sympathy vote that John Edwards said he did not want. A lie. Of course that is what they wanted. Ask yourself as a human being, is this how a person claiming to be the victim she claims to be, yet holds a press conference to announce "Cancer has returned.” Who else did you ever know that did it that way, that’s right, no one.
