There was an announcement yesterday, supposedly coming from John Kerry, that he started not to put John Edwards on the ticket as his running mate because Edwards gave two different versions of losing his first born son in a car wreck. What the different versions were was not stated, but were apparently far enough apart that it proves that Edwards will say and do anything to advance his goal in life to becoming president of the USA. Both John Edwards and wife Elizabeth will do and say anything to remain in the public eye, but even so, it does not seem to be helping in the polls as far as his bid for president is concerned. Were it not such a sorry line up on the Democratic ticket, no one would pay much attention to him anyway.
The President just keeps falling in the polls after his attempt at immigration reform failed. We, the public, have been chastised soundly by nearly all columnists in the newspapers for standing against this law which would have granted citizenship to 12,000,000 illegals. I don't see how anyone could fall for this so called solution to a massive problem. If we could have even had a glimmer that the problem would have abated, it might have been different. It is good to know that if we at the grass roots level yell hard enough and loud enough, we can make a difference. If the voters could get steamed up enough on any subject, we could make a difference, but sadly, this is not the case.
I have an issue or two with Bush myself, but they will await clarification until he is out of office. But never once in office has he ever reached the low of the Clinton’s. Simply put, they are without class. They have no discretion and no dignity. It was not the first time that such a thing transpired in our White House, but the truth of the matter is, it never did reach such a low before them, and I hope never will again.
Many of our presidents have come from humble beginnings. They did come from stable beginnings it would seem. They raised themselves in ranks to achieve some other goal in life. Sure, Bill Clinton was Governor of Arkansas and she has become a Senator from New York, with Bill for back up. But on her own, the only thing she seems to have had going for her all these years is that she was married to him. Obviously, the marriage has been a rocky road from the get go. He can be seen anywhere from miles around with his big grin being everyone’s best friend. Poor Hillary lacks such an art. She has what is called an unlikabilty factor. I will admit that the economy was good when Bubba was in the Oval Office. The one who occupies that office always get the rewards of a good economy, and by the same token, gets the blame if the economy is bad. The economy is always a number one issue. It will always be so. We all have to work and make a living. Jobs and paychecks will always be among the top concerns. Education? Yes, it too is a top concern. The success of home schooling has proven to be one of the best educations yet. What we learn at home are the lessons that last a life time. When we talk of the past and the lack of education, we have to remember that these people did not have a civilization sprawled from coast to coast. Los Angeles alone has about ten or twelve million, and is one of the biggest cities in the United States. Where we were supposed to fit in 12,000,000 illegals is beyond me.
No border will ever be strong enough to keep out of this country those that come here to work. Where there are jobs, there will be people to take them. But we need all people documented from now own. After 9/11, we better have learned a lesson. There really is a war on terror. It was predicted in the Bible, so there is no getting around it. So if we really care about the economy, if we desire good education for our children, we had better get it right as far as the terrorists and the war they have declared on us. Military success is an absolute must. It always has been and it will always be. It is not like the environment is fixing to reach out and grab us instantly and we die from it. We need to take care of cleaning it up and it can only be done gradually and with much planning for the good of everyone. Each of us needs to decide what the single most important issue is. War is something that is unavoidable. When have we not had war? This one could be the one that is lost if we are not careful. Freedom is definitely not free. As Churchill said in his famous speech: "We have nothing to offer, but blood, sweat and tears, but we will never ever give up. Well, that is all it takes as long as you also have the most wonderful military on the face of the Earth.
