Virgie Bell's View: Who is she anyway?

The Valerie Plame fiasco holds about as much importance as the Paris Hilton jail news. When did you hear about Ms. Plame and what did she have to do with anything...ever? Not much. So someone ousted her from what? First time I really had a chance to get a glimpse of this great event, she and her husband were on the cover of Vanity Fair and I was doing my best to figure out who the heck these two were. Inside was an article about this show-stopping couple. I did not even get through the first paragraph. When I refuse to read an article, it’s bad. The most ever written about them was in one of my newspapers when they moved to New Mexico into a hacienda mansion and he was quoted as having the desire to be finally remembered as a good father and husband. Yeah, right. That is a line that he is hoping will go into the movie of the week, and trust me, that is what this is all about.

I rescinded my subscription to aforementioned magazine for the showing of our warriors who have given their lives for our freedom coming off the plane in flag-draped coffins. It was always something, anti-Bush, anti-war, anti-military. It is strictly liberal in content and is more interested in celebrity news than anything else covered. It is for the inquiring minds who want to get the gossip in a glossy magazine. Not long ago I noticed the cover had Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and Al Gore and someone else who I can't even remember. I was just as glad as I could be that I no longer receive it in my mailbox. I have threatened to do away with Time Magazine but will probably never do so. It is also liberal in view, but I try to see both sides in politics and am drawn to hard news and reporting that has some relevance to what is going on in the world. If you want to see Lindsey Lohan naked and talking dirty then by all means subscribe to Vanity Fair with my blessings. If all you want is the shot of the crotch, you can get that on the internet.

Valerie Plame is the pop tart of politics. If it would help her cause she would shave her head just as a la Britney. Go after the Bush Administration. That’s new. With Cindy Sheehan bowing out to take up her hobby of porn surfing on the web, then I guess Valerie Plame is the next scandal. Someone lied in Washington DC? Oh my stars!!
