Virgie Bell's View: DREAM or Nightmare?

Once in a while an issue comes up needing to be addressed even when we are taking off time to enjoy the last days of summer and today I thinks is one of those days to address another immigration plot that is rearing its head. The title of the bill is D R E A M. This stands for development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors. In short, it is a bill to allow for some 60,000 illegal minors who have earned a high school diploma or a GED be allowed to go to college or into the military with no threat of deportment. I will go along with the military portion. But the college education which is furnished without in-state tuition; I am not for that at all. Our military has been under attack long enough by their enemies here in the USA. They say that it is the cost of the troops that have left us short on cash so that bridges are unsafe, Katrina victims are still hurting, tornados, greenhouse gas, and hurricane damage is all because we are funding the war in Iraq. Seems the DREAM ACT has been around quite a while and is one of the little things slipped into the bill that will be sent to the President. We had the audience in Mexico clapping and jeering Miss USA when she fell, we have flags of other countries march with the protesters holding them high and demanding rights that do not even belong to them. One of the shooters of the execution style slaying of the three black college students is here illegally. We spend umpteen zillion dollars having welders go along the fence between Mexico repairing the cutting made from those who sneak across or attempt to cross into our country. They do this on a daily basis. It is like doing dishes, you just never get through. But to me, here is the real rub. I feel that if an illegal fights for this country they have earned the right to become citizens and the GI bill to college. I will back it 100% and do so gladly. Otherwise, deport them. The reasoning behind this is that although they have been here at least five years because they came with parents and it could not be their fault then they are to receive a free college education. Of course they have to have parents here for them and also brothers and sisters, aunts, cousins. Who wants a 16 year old here with no family? No one.

Dear reader, we must wake up and smell the coffee before the coffee pot sets the house on fire. Right now I have no great love for the president because of his stand on immigration and granting citizen ship to 12,000,000 souls here illegally. I did not like his stand on the poor girl hooked up on life support. I will forever admire him for the support he has given our troops. Mistakes made in war? Golly gee! It is not about mistakes. In simple terms it is about win or lose. Nothing else. The first choice of the terrorists was in New York, in Washington DC and aborted effort in some field in Pennsylvania. To be honest, I feel we are looking at a Democratic President next time. I look at the candidates and try my best to find anything about the Democratic candidates. It is just not possible for me to do so as long as I have kept up with this. I am not one of those that stays awake at night worrying about national health care. I know that the only ones who have to pay for health care are us, the US taxperson. Don't let anyone fool you. No one, but no one is turned away. We tax payers pick up the tab. If health care is any more available than that, I want some of it.

I really do hope that Cindy Sheehan beats Nancy Pelosi in the race for congress. At least I know where she stands and Ms. Gooey Two shoes makes me sick. They need Ms. Sheehan in DC. She could keep all of them busier than a one arm paper hanger. Everyone would have to stand for or against us in the War on Terror instead of being for something one day and against it the next day. Knowing who your enemy is half the battle. I don't care if the gays marry each other or if they marry a baboon. Go for it. If you use abortion for birth control, fine... just don't ask me to pay for it. So the money that is ear marked for free health care is being sought by taking it away from our soldiers. It is also being taken away from our Medicaid. Try to make me like a candidate for president from what ever party they are from and I will hate them for it. At least we know where ugly butt Sheehan stands as well as the Reverend Al and the Reverend Jackson. Not everyone needs a college education to make it here in the good old USA. We have some of the biggest losers right in our Congress and Senate and we are looking to have another big loser in the White House. I dread it too, I really do. I do after all SUPPORT THE TROOPS!
