Thanks for posting this interesting article about China turning away the USS Kitty Hawk for its Thanksgiving Port Call, and several days before the Kitty Hawk incident, refusing to let two U.S. Navy minesweepers enter Hong Kong harbor to escape an approaching storm and receive fuel. The minesweepers had to be refueled at sea.
As you know, my wife Kemme and I were in Hong Kong over the Thanksgiving Holidays. We met three different families (wives and children) of U.S. Sailors who had come to see their husbands and fathers - to no avail.
Big-Baby-Crybaby-Communist China is very angry that we honored the exiled spiritual leader of Tibet, his Holiness the Dalai Lama, with our highest civilian award: He was presented the U.S. Congressional Gold Medal at the White House on October 17th.
The People's Republic of China has spoken, and they have said they have been "deeply wounded" by this award to the Dalai Lama ---- even as they continue to deny religious and political freedom to Tibet.
So their response is to refuse prearranged port calls in Hong Kong to our Navy ships!
Communist China is a Bully and a Crybaby. Most bullies are crybabies. Pardon my "French," but they are also chickenshits!
