Writings and musings on the eccentric beauty of sacrifice. Come journey and write with us. We are family and friends resolved to capture something positive in a troubled world and laugh when we can along the way. This, then, is dedicated in Loving Memory to LCpl. Aaron C. Austin, USMC KIA Fallujah, Iraq on April 26, 2004. Rock On...

Major, you are in our thoughts and prayers - also your family, friends and the men you served with.
We honor you now and always for all you have sacrificed on our behalf.
This tears me up. We need men like him among our troops. My heart goes out to the family. My prayers are with you all. His daughter I hope carries on his legend. Since the physical has been taken away, I pray the blood will carry on. I pray his wife sunshine in her life some day, and for his parents to stand proud and know he was what he fought and died for. May laughter come to your hearts when the time is right. Our sincere thoughts are with you at this time. For we know, we have walked in those shoes. May God carry you through in this time of such a precious and delicate part of life. Proud Aunt Of LCPL Aaron Cole Austin, KIA in Iraq under this fighting lion. Two lions are and will be missed. Thank you for your sacrifice it humbles me so.
Semper Fi, Major!
Hoping all the rest here are doing good!
I just now recieved the news. I am just at a loss for words. My heart just aches for his Marines and Family. God Bless You, Major.
That glorious Company that was Echo 2/1 in '03 and '04 will stand proud tomorrow again. No matter where they were according to John Harrell and Matt Barr there will be an excellent showing and for good reason. That Company in that time-frame will always be the most amazing fiercest family I ever had the priviledge of standing next to on the field of battle. Any time I speak of glory and honor you will hear the names of that company.
Chantal told me that John was going to make it, and that there was an open invitation to 2/1. I'm so glad to hear that many will get to attend. What a gathering! I have goose bumps just now, thinking of the Marines, those gone and those here, who will be in attendance tomorrow.
Expect thunder.
