Yet another unselfish act of heroism performed by a man wearing the Eagle, Globe and Anchor:
An Air Force Captain narrowly escaped serious injury recently when he decided to try horseback riding, even though he had no lessons or prior experience. He mounted the horse, unassisted, and the horse immediately sprang into action. As it galloped along at a steady and rhythmic pace, the Captain began to slip from the saddle. In terror, he grabbed for the horse's mane, but could not get a firm grip. He tried to throw his arms around the horse's neck, but he began to slide down the side of the horse anyway!
The horse galloped along, seemingly impervious to its slipping rider. Finally, losing his frail grip, the Captain attempted to leap away from the horse and throw himself to safety. Unfortunately, his foot became entangled in the stirrup, and he was now at the mercy of the horse's pounding hooves as his head struck against the ground over and over and over.
As his head was being battered against the ground and he was mere moments away from unconsciousness, to his great fortune a Marine Sergeant shopping at Wal-Mart saw him and quickly unplugged the horse.

Oh that was TOO funny! I love it!
I know! They're all so mean to each other! I love it!
I know, aren't they? I get so tickled with the Marine recruiters and how they tease each other and tease the other recruiters. One of the Marine recruiters told me to go over to the Air Force recruiters and say "Hey, I hear you guys are going to be part of the military soon." or "Are you bus drivers? Where's the Greyhound?" They are such stinkers. :) When I told my boys about it, they wanted to know why I didn't do it. They thought it would have been hilarious.
I know a lady in her 70's, Doris Yarbro went into the Army recruiter's office and said "Where do I sign up." She said they looked so shocked. She has great spirit.
Aaron gave me and Greg being in the Army. Called us second-stringers, "Aint Ready for Marines Yet," everything! I loved it!
Doris is the greatest! They'd do well to have her and she'd keep them tickled! The USO needs her!
