OIF 1 Scraps: Cpl. Garcia

This was the wildest thing to find out that Garcia was Aaron's squad leader for a while. He is such a great guy and has been over here a few times. His parents are such loving and kind people and his brother and sister are also in the military. At least one of them is a Marine, maybe both.

The last I knew, Derrick was living in Lubbock but was seriously considering going back into the Marines. Haven't heard anything about him in a while.

OIF 1 Scraps: Cards anyone?

By the time I got this into the scrapbook, it was pretty hard to see what the Marine is doing, but he's in his gas mask playing cards. I always liked this picture and I think it floated around the Internet some.

OIF 1 Scraps: Meals Ready to Eat (MRE) or Letters Ready to Read (LRR)

"Some of these things broke my heart."

Not the MRE letter; I know he designed that to be cute, but what the letter said did break my heart. The mail was so slow then. I'm so glad they have MOTO mail or whatever it's called now. Someone explain to us how that works. It's a big part of our history and something that makes this war different. What isn't different is how important that communication and care packages are. Which reminds me, I need to do more.

I owe Doc a box and letter. And how about if we make Semper Fi Mom's group the military endeavor we support with the next upcoming test?? MMmm?

OIF 1 Scraps: Just pages...

It says: A yellow ribbon from White Plaza. The wind blew it down from the trees. You were out of Iraq. I was picking up trash and picked it up. "Mine" is more elaborate.
and Little Pretty's Spelling Bee while you were gone. Her name is on the very back. added 5-15-03

USA and Singapore

I put stamps, stickers, made labels, everything on his envelopes. But still, I'm a harsh parent. Lisa used to go stand in line for Zach at school to purchase his year book or whatever!! ;)
Pretty picture. Aaron had a subscription that year and I would use the covers. Inside the covers are articles.

OIF 1 Scraps: Gen. Jones, Austins & USS Rushmore

Aaron's Grandma and Grandpa in California went to see them off. Eric was there too. He's the one in the white in the last page's bottom corner.
