Yesterday was a little upsetting to me to say the least. I was getting up early to go a doctor appointment and therefore doing my daily reading of my newspapers in the car. I am of course addicted to editorial pages and columnist columns. As I have stated in the past George Bush is the first time I voted for a republican for that office. By then the Mark Rich pardon had become part of history. There were other reasons I am sure but that was the defining issue for me.
Yesterday I read a woman columnist who is featured every week and I couldn't keep from wondering if the kind of reporting they do has been that sort of thing going on all along. This woman has written in the past that she does not believe in God. She also remarked in one column that she was leaving that choice up to her children, to let them decide for themselves. Yesterday in her column she was furious because some people had written in and had really been castigating her for her position on Global Warming. She is in the Gore camp and I mean big time. She took to task the Crittenden book that poo poos such a notion. I don't like Al Gore at all. I find him silly beyond words. I always have, except when it looked as if he might be a candidate for president back in the late 80's. I knew nothing about him then so I liked this article in a magazine that featured him. I promise you that I would not vote him dog catcher now. You can't have it two ways. Either the Bible is right or Al Gore is right.
When God felt sorrow at having to destroy the earth by flood, He promised that as long as the earth stood, we would have seedtime and harvest, summer and winter and day and night would not cease. (Genesis 8: 22.) Now that is the promise of the Almighty. If God's word is true as I believe it to be, then Al Gore is a liar. So God lies or Al Gore lies. Take your pick. Can't both be true. If nothing else will influence my vote, this will. I am so sorry that it has come to this, for there are good and decent people in both parties, but Al Gore is into something that scares me to death. Not for myself. I am no genius, in fact far from it, but I know enough that I can choose the Word over the false prophet Al Gore.
The columnist yesterday said that we believers pull God out to use as a gun. And she also said that she bet He wasn't smiling. Last time I saw her little god, he had a big smile as he accepted his Oscar for the Best Documentary ....An Inconvenient Truth. SUPPORT THE TROOPS!
