Army Capt. Tristan N. Aitken, 31, of State College, Pennsylvania.
Killed in action in Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on April 4, 2003.


Army Pfc. Wilfred D. Bellard, 20, of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Killed when his vehicle fell into a ravine. He was assigned to the 41st Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on April 4, 2003.

Army Spc. Daniel Francis J. Cunningham, 33, of Lewiston, Maine.
Killed when his vehicle fell into a ravine. He was assigned to the 41st Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on April 4, 2003.


Marine Capt. Travis A. Ford, 30, of Oceanside, California.
Killed in action when his AH-1W Super Cobra helicopter crashed during combat operations near Ali-Ariziyal, Iraq. Assigned to the Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) - 267, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on April 4, 2003.


Marine Cpl. Bernard G. Gooden, 22, of Mt. Vernon, New York.
Killed during a firefight in central Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on April 4, 2003

Army Pvt. Devon D. Jones, 19, of San Diego, California.
Killed when his vehicle fell into a ravine. He was assigned to the 41st Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on April 4, 2003.


Marine 1st Lt. Brian M. McPhillips, 25, of Pembroke, Massachusetts.
Killed during a firefight in central Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on April 4, 2003.


Marine Sgt. Duane R. Rios, 25, of Griffith, Indiana.
Killed during a firefight in central Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on April 4, 2003.


Marine Capt. Benjamin W. Sammis, 29, of Rehoboth, Massachusetts.

Army Pfc. John D. Amos II, 22, of Valparaiso, Indiana.
Amos died in Kirkuk, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device hit his military vehicle. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on April 4, 2004.


Army Spc. Robert R. Arsiaga, 25, of Midland, Texas.
Arsiaga died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on April 4, 2004.


Army Spc. Ahmed A. Cason, 24, of McCalla, Alabama.
Cason died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on April 4, 2004.


Army Sgt. Yihjyh L. Chen, 31, of Saipan, Marianas Protectorate.
Chen died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on April 4, 2004.


Marine Cpl. Tyler R. Fey, 22, of Eden Prarie, Minnesota.
Fey died due to injuries received from hostile fire in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on April 4, 2004.


Army Spc. Israel Garza, 25, of Lubbock, Texas.
Garza died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on April 4, 2004.

Army Sgt. Michael W. Mitchell, 25, of Porterville, California.
Mitchell died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 37th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division, Ray Barracks, Friedberg, Germany. Died on April 4, 2004.


Marine Pfc. Geoffery S. Morris, 19, of Gurnee, Illinois.
Morris died due to injuries received from hostile fire in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on April 4, 2004.


Army Spc. Philip G. Rogers, 23, of Gresham, Oregon.
Rogers died in Mosul, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device hit his military vehicle. He was assigned to 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on April 4, 2004.


***Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, 24, of Vacaville, California.
Sheehan died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on April 4, 2004.


April 4, 2005

Army Staff Sgt. Christopher W. Dill, 32, of Tonawanda, New York.
Dill died in Balad Ruz, Iraq, when his patrol was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to the Army Reserve's 2nd Battalion, 390th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 98th Division, Buffalo, New York. Died on April 4, 2005.


Army Sgt. 1st Class Stephen C. Kennedy, 35, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Kennedy died in Balad Ruz, Iraq, when his patrol was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Squadron, 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Lenoir City, Tennessee. Died on April 4, 2005.


Marine Lance Cpl. Jeremiah C. Kinchen, 22, of Salcha, Alaska.
Kinchen died from an explosion that occurred during combat operations in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Force Reserve's 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, San Antonio, Texas. During Operation Iraq Freedom, Kinchen was attached to 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 8, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force. Died on April 4, 2005.

April 4, 2006
Army Spc. Ty J. Johnson, 28, of Elk Grove, California.
Johnson died in Kirkuk, Iraq, when an improvised device detonated near his HMMWV during combat operations. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on April 4, 2006.
