Virgie Bell's View: The Big Drip

I have always looked forward to my Time Magazine coming in the mail, even more since I have been posting on this blog. I received the magazine today and have already been through it. You see it is all about global warming and my first thought was good, a report on both sides. I have to say I could not have been more disappointed. I have to admit that I have been more than a little put out with the main stream media. They have been so busy getting out the news that leans all the way toward the liberal view that is seems more like watching a political rally than an accurate reporting to inform a public that really wants to know what is going on.

At any rate, I decided to find out what the experts have to say about global warming. You might as well have had Al Gore writing each article. It caused me to do a little research about this topic and give a report not from just my view but from the experts on both sides of the issue.

There’s Al Gore, who of course is still making a big thing of his discovery, and then there is Michael Crichton, the gentleman pictured above. Well Michael Crichton was not even mentioned. In fact, nothing that even validates another opinion. There are few things that I find as pretentious as one who presents themselves as an intellectual without the credits to back up such claim. So I looked it up today and here is what I found.

Al Gore was born March 31, 1948 in Washington DC. He attended the prestigious school of St. Alban's School for Boys in Washington; He received a B.A. from Harvard in 1969. He attended Vanderbilt School of Religion, 1971-72 and Vanderbilt Law School from 1974 to 1976. He served in the army as a journalist and about 6 months was in Vietnam as a journalist. While in Vietnam he had his own bodyguard furnished by his power-broker-Washington-insider-father. The credits he received from Vanderbilt were simple courses and were taken for more or less as a résumé, one would have to suppose.

(John) Michael Crichton was born in Chicago Illinois Oct. 23, 1942; educated at Harvard University Cambridge, Mass. A.B. (summa cum laude) 1964, (Phi Beta Kappa); Henry Russell Shaw Traveling Fellow, 1964-65; Visiting Lecturer in Anthology at Cambridge University, England, 1965, graduated Harvard Medical School. M.D. 196? , post-doctoral fellow at the Salk Institute for Biological Sciences, La Jolla, California 1969-1970; Visiting Writer, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1988. If I were to list all the accomplishments and awards he has received I would absolutely be into something that would be exhaustive in its scope. Suffice it to say, it is beyond anything I could begin to understand. The first peep I had about global warming was when I read his book entitled State of Fear. In that book he gives tests and documented facts and results, everything he recites he backs up with hard evidence.

I had a very dear neighbor and friend come to my house late yesterday. She had watched 60 minutes and with wide, innocent eyes was telling me about the iceberg that was JUST MELTING!!! I had to suppress a grin because the wonderful Christian lady is a Yellow Dog Democrat, just as I was at one time. Being a Christian has its drawbacks for the Yellow Dog at the present time. I pointed out to her that God pointed out that never again would He destroy the earth with a flood as He did with Noah’s generation. That furthermore he promised us as long as the earth exists we would have a seedtime and a harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter and day and night and that it would be so forever. He put the Rainbow in the sky as the covenant sign. I also remarked that either Al Gore was wrong or God was wrong. I was glad this was a dear friend Yellow Dog Democrat, and not my dear departed Yellow Dog mother. If it had been, I would have still been standing in the corner. SUPPORT THE TROOPS!
