It bothers me a great deal that Jesse Jackson feels empowered to be a moral compass in regard to Don Imus and his dumb stupid remark. Trust me, I feel that Don Imus is completely off the charts in being wrong and he should have lost his audience long, long ago. If the ratings are not good, that is a given. Mr. Jackson is a race baiter. Everything about him is geared to creating a disturbance in that regard. I suppose his wife knows him best, but I am sure his former mistress and mother of his illegitimate child is pretty familiar with him too.
In reference to the Reverend (a courtesy bestowed by him upon him), Mistress/Mother said of Mr. Jackson that he had no regard for anyone's rights except his own. She said he did not care two hoots and a holler about anyone or anything except his pocketbook. If you will go back and search among historical pictures and find where Martin Luther King was shot, you will find that indeed Mr. King did not die in Jesse Jackson's arms. In fact, he was not even touching him, but used this tragic event to further his own claim to fame. How sad.
As for the Reverend Al Sharpton (another self imposed courtesy) and his moral indignation! Hypocrite. As I have said before, his use of a teenage Miss Brawley to ignite a race riot, smeared her with fecal matter--the whole dumpster thing, will forever be in my mind. Mr. Sharpton and Mr. Jackson should be ashamed of their own actions and leave it to everyone else to be judge and jury. I wish they could take a page out of Bill Cosby's book and truly try to help those who need helping with good advice, but we will forever see them in their marches as the pot calling the kettle black.
I can't for the life of me understand where Mr. Imus ever came to be such a stellar star. He has always been guilty of being the most insulting in his remarks but then it seems he was at the top of the charts for years. There used to be a comedian who used one insult after another for his complete act. I haven't seen him in years, but I always found him to be repulsive because of it, take notice though—I would like for Rosie O’Donnell, Snoop Dog and all of the others who feel that they have a green light to talk in such a disgusting way hurling one insult after the other while over the nation’s airways to be called on the carpet also. I also wish that both Reverends would put a lid on it too.
