John Corzine was emotional when he was making a little speech about his recent accident, and asking the citizens of his state to forgive him for not using his seat belt. The vehicle he was traveling in was going 91 miles per hour. He is lucky to be alive. It seems that those that govern us either by state or national legislation have one goal and that is to go right on breaking whichever law they choose to break. Corzine's big hurry was to get to where Hillary Clinton was having a little political to do with the women's team from Rutgers. The one that Don Imus got into so much trouble about. As it happened, the massacre at Virginia Tech occurred and so whatever this great meeting with Hillary and the team did or didn't do to create much of a buzz. The buzz is always what all this political stuff is ever about. Air time and camera opportunity is the art form; it is in the back of their every move. As I’ve said before and will say again, we voters make a mistake in believing that these leaders in our government are smarter, more caring than John Q. Public. It is just not the case. The lack of common sense and judgment among them is astounding. The desire for power transcends any other desire. It is something that most people have no desire to have. Oh, we all want the power to run our lives and that of our families. We want to be an asset to our community and our nations. Other than that it is something we won't bother to grab.
So much is going on in the world today that is beyond our knowledge. Those that serve our country in a military capacity are the victims not so much of war, but of politics. They are trained warriors. By extension, they are our police force that guards our private space during an illegal march, guards against those who feel they have the right to march on private property. There are those who somehow believe they have the right to ignore our rights as to our private property. Does anyone even care that this goes on? This intrusion in our lives.
We have a little space here in the desert country of New Mexico. Nothing shabby by anyone's standards. Then again, not lavish and showy. Just average by the standards of John Q. Public. Jerry works hard on the yard to make it nice. He mows and trims. He spends time and effort for his little part of the American Dream. I have watched him when he was not aware of it. Just sitting there in solitude, a glass of ice water in his right hand, one foot propped over a knee. At that moment he is living the dream. A little patch of grass and a nice brick home. But that is not the reason for his pride. No, he knows that it is because he has done a job well and collected deserved pay. That he has earned the right to set in his yard content. Do you suppose that some group has the right to march on his little piece of the dream? Jerry is the strongest man I have ever known in my life. Jerry was born a family man. Some man in some city one time grabbed him out of a crowd and wanted him to try out for pro football. He was too slow to make the cut. Other than that he would have been in. Jerry was never pro ball material. As I said, he was born a family man. He was born the baby in a large, close-knit family. In the past there was a player that his nick-name was “Refrigerator” with the ability to hold gravity that defied the law of gravity. As I said he is big. Paul Bunyan big. And strong. I have seen him lift things impossible to lift. The pride of ownership goes deeply. Our place, our spot. Ours. Now you take any group and get them together for a march for or against anything. That's fine and it is your business. But don't do your march on our yard. If that were to occur, well let's just say it wouldn't. Now our military is the final protector of this little space, our lot. Ours. If the line breaks down in Iraq and in other parts of the globe, and if politics wins, if our troops do not receive support, if they are not allowed to protect our rights, the dream is gone...our dream. So I'm just saying that no matter the cost to us, please support the troops. I want to watch and share with this man that sets with pride in our yard, a place of our own. Ours. One we both worked hard to have. No matter what it costs, please, just please SUPPORT THE TROOPS!
