As they stand now, these 3 flags and 1 memorial honor 2 Marines. One is Major Douglas Zembiec and the other is Lance Corporal Aaron C. Austin. What was their relationship to each other? (outside of New Mexico.)
Writings and musings on the eccentric beauty of sacrifice. Come journey and write with us. We are family and friends resolved to capture something positive in a troubled world and laugh when we can along the way. This, then, is dedicated in Loving Memory to LCpl. Aaron C. Austin, USMC KIA Fallujah, Iraq on April 26, 2004. Rock On...

I think that Major Zembiec and Aaron served in the same Company; which was E Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment. Therefore, their relaionship was that of 2 Marines serving in the same Company...one Marine a Major and one Marine a Lance Corporal. I think.

Major Zembiec was Aaron's unit commander (Captain at that time). He wrote the letter to me that is in Operation Homecoming, and he put Aaron in for his Silver Star.
Good job, Deborah!
