Only the deaths of Specialists and Sergeants of the Army exceed that of the Lance Corporal of the Marine Corps. As of November 2, 2006, those numbers were Specialist (488) and Sergeant (382). Those at the rank of Staff Sergeant (250) and Private First Class (238) follow.

Steven told me about this when he was a Lance Corporal. I have never seen it layed out in numbers that way.

And truly, when you think about the number of Marines we have as compared to the Army soldiers, the numbers themselves don't really give the right comparison.

I love our Marines at all levels, and I don't know why I picked E-3 to concentrate on, maybe because of Aaron, but we will examine other rank/rate/grades as well.

I have a hard time keeping up with the Navy's structure. It's so different.
