Virgie Bell's View: Hammer Lane

M C Hammer was on Hannety's America last night and he was no different than most all other entertainers. He said that in the beginning of the War on Terror, he was for our call to go forth to battle. Now, however, he feels it is time to bring the troops home. His reason for this little pearl of wisdom put forth is that "We have no business getting into a religious war in Iraq." Simply amazing, and I am so grateful that he has cleared that up. He also has a new video out in which he’s singing his heart out in the midst of a make believe cemetery among hundreds of crosses. Of course, his view has nothing to do with this new performance available at your video store.

Here is the thing that Mr. Hammer needs to be aware of. This was a war declared on us for religious purposes. Islamic extremists were the ones who high jacked those planes on that fateful day nearly six Septembers ago. They did this in the name of Allah. To kill the infidels ... that is us. An infidel is anyone of any religion, or non religion. Thus a religious war was declared on us when the first plane slammed into the World Trade Center. They had no way of knowing that there might have been a Muslim within that building, therefore ,even their own beliefs do not spare a fellow brethren. Kind of makes you wonder just what we needed to do when this attack happened. Surrender right there? Never strike one blow or attempt to recover from the blow that struck us? Ah, yes, dialogue. We should have gone immediately to the Taliban and had dialogue. The only other option for us is the one we took. That would be to fight back.

Hardheads that we are, this is the course we chose. We did not go ahead and surrender New York City that day, so we of course had to choose an alternative battlefield. Now the Taliban is not a country. It is in all countries so that pretty well closes down whom you can go to and establishes where to start. Therefore it is pick and choose. What country? Main training camp is in Afghanistan. The supporters of this attack were from the USA, although they were here illegally. Well they already won that battle in New York and when we rose up as a country to fight back, we made up our minds we would also try to win. We also had to have another name, so heads that prevailed at that time said we will call it a War on Terror. A bumper sticker name. One like Support Our Troops. Something silly like that according to the illustrious John Edwards. Having decided that we would fight back we went to the United Nations and tried to get permission for a legal war. They said no. This is not surprising in the least as they always say no to us. Just like they do to the state of Israel. Whatever the request, the answer is no. Winning, of course, comes first and foremost in getting the battlefield out of New York. Pronto. Who is the worst dictator in the best location for a battlefield? Iraq comes to mind because they took over another country when the whole Middle East called on us for rescue. It was called Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Another bumper sticker type name, but the whole Middle East wanted us to use this as I said...pronto.

Afghanistan is surrounded on all sides with countries that are nuclear capable, so that is a no right there. We were therefore forced to have one of these countries give us aid. If we fought in Afghanistan we had to have a place to start. This is called an acceptable battle plan that has a name called you will help us or wish you had. Pick one ... the easy way or the hard way. We no longer harbor a Calvary force, so we are left with what we have, which is the finest military in the world. So therefore, we the people of the Untied States of America decided to defend our more perfect union by doing the best we could in order to win this war. There are just some things we got do, if we want to win. Otherwise, why did we even try?

MR Hammer. Where does all this profound wisdom come from? The entertainment industry? From those illustrious intellectuals who have mastered the art of pretend? You, M R Hammer, contend that you have taken this view as a father and a son. Good for you. I take the opposite view of the one who had the blood of my grandson shed on that soil, on that battlefield in Iraq. I will not be buying Mr. Hammer’s new video. I hope no one does.

SUPPORT THE TROOPS!
