Writings and musings on the eccentric beauty of sacrifice. Come journey and write with us. We are family and friends resolved to capture something positive in a troubled world and laugh when we can along the way. This, then, is dedicated in Loving Memory to LCpl. Aaron C. Austin, USMC KIA Fallujah, Iraq on April 26, 2004. Rock On...

wow! Those are all so beautiful! I loved the roses the best! I love roses! You're an awesome artist! Is there anything you don't do? LOL! How did you learn, did you take lessons or self taught? After my Mema passed away I got all her painting books. I have tried and tried but I am such a perfectionist it gets in my way. I did tole painting for years, which is so different from oil painting. I just have so many bad habits from that, I beleive. I really love the artist Christie Repasy, she does beautiful roses as well. Where I get all meesed up when trying to oil paint is the shading. I try to shade as if Im painting on wood! Looks horrible! Maybe one day I'll take some oil painting lessons. Thank you so much for sharing all the beautiful paintings. I might just have to pull all my paint out this weekend.
