Writings and musings on the eccentric beauty of sacrifice. Come journey and write with us. We are family and friends resolved to capture something positive in a troubled world and laugh when we can along the way. This, then, is dedicated in Loving Memory to LCpl. Aaron C. Austin, USMC KIA Fallujah, Iraq on April 26, 2004. Rock On...

Those are BEAUTIFUL! Where does she get her patterns and fabric to make those? My Mema used to make those. I sure do miss my Mema, we use to craft for a whole week straight when I would visit her. That stuff is expensive these days. I looked a while back in hobby lobby for the picture and pillow ones, I about died when I seen the price. I ended up buying a snoopy latch hook kit because it was 50% off! LOLOL, I never did that thing! Anyone need a snoopy rug?
I love these!!! They are gorgeous! I have a couple of embroidered pillow cases that my grandmother did and I sleep on them every night. I probably shouldn't. I'm going to wear them out.
Diane, you sound like me. I am so bad about buying things just because they are on clearance.
No, no, SFM, sleep on them! I once rented a room from a lady in Lubbock who had embroidery on even my sheets and pillowcases! There was a lace thing on Aaron's and the part that came off on the pillowcase that I wore out, I have tucked away. Enjoy every little thing you can is my theory. Of course, I am the one who puts the
"new stuff" up for too long, but I'm trying to break that!
Diane, plain and simple, YOU ARE A Nut!! Of the best cashew variety, of course! But I'll ask Mom. She can't get comments again. I so hate her computer and really wanted her to win the one that Karen was raffling off. Anyway, I'll email this to her and see if we get a quick response. I know she has ended up buying every little supply the store has when she finds it--as far as thread goes. I think she got the patterns in Lubbock. She's done several varieties, but has already gifted them to the owner. They are beautiful. She's a perfectionist, like my husband.
While I was at her house yesterday, I got Lisa to take pictures of some of her paintings. Once I get them cropped and all, I'll begin to put a few up. Her goldfish are over on Scriveners. You guys should start entering the Title It contest! It's fun!
And Diane, my maternal grandmother we called MeMa. Cool. I named her... I was the eldest!!! ;)
I just love cashews! (hee hee) Does Vigie bell paint as well? What kind of painting, Oil? That's one thing, I wished I would have had my Mema teach me. I love to paint, but I am so hard on myself. I throw everything I paint away... but I'm goofy like that! I also had a pepaw, but I take it my mema named him that because when I was about 12 years old and I called him pepaw he said "Don't call me that, you call me Dean or Grand Dad" LOL, I was like iyiyiyiy I'll call ya Grand dad. If I called him Dean (his first name) My parents would have died! I can't wait to see her paintings! I wanna paint roses! I love roses but I have tried, they look so silly when I paint them!
Yes, oil painting.
Lisa tried to name Grandpa Pepaw, but like yours, he wasn't having it! That's funny.
