Virgie Bell's View: Top Yellow Dog(s)

It is beyond me what Hillary is talking about when she calls the Bush Administration a corporation of corruption, cronyism, and deceit. I mean is it more non-corrupt to align oneself to the knee-pad games in the Oval Office as was Hill’s Bubba in the Oval Office with an intern young enough to be his daughter? How about the cronyism of Sandy Berger and his fetish for stealing documents from our archives and deceit...Hum. Deceit is trying to hide the truth and when you swear to a lie under oath, is that not the height of deceit?

I vacillate back and forth about who I don't want to win the Democratic nomination the most, Hillary or Obama. What a choice, huh? Hillary has this wild look out of her eyes. I mean look at her. She is positively scary, and Obama is just wimpy looking with his big ears and big teeth and constantly harping about someone “is too divisive for his taste,” as he labors to divide one race against another.

Who do you choose? It really is a race between these two and anyone that says different is deluding themselves. At this time I see nothing for the other candidates who are running for the Democratic top spot. Richardson has raised $7,000,000.00 in the last three months while Edwards has raised $8,000,000.00. A paltry sum next to Hillary's $27,000,000.00 and Obama's $32,000,000.00. For we mere mortals, that is a stunning amount, any way you look at it, but money talks, as we all know. I wish with all my heart that someone else would jump in on the ticket, but it looks hopeless. It is just the same old same story of supposedly brilliant people who make the poorest choices imaginable, with Edwards leading the pack—Edwards and Danny Glover.

Edwards has got to be the most deluded of all to think the American population would forgive Glover his public support of the mad-man Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. Hugo Chavez makes no bones about where he stands as far as America is concerned. He hates America and has no love for his own countrymen. What kind of person threatens his own people with gunfire in order to gain complete control of all resources in that country? He is just another Fidel Castro and look what happened to Cuba under his tender mercies; the Cuban people would do anything to escape that tyrant.

Reports are not forthcoming about any money raised by the other candidates on the ticket for the top spot but by the silence, you can read volumes into their support. Insignificant at best and right at the moment in history we need strong leadership qualities. Look at England and Scotland today. Three attempts to blow innocent people to kingdom come, and we can look to the same attempts on our soil. John Edwards has no judgment whatsoever. We may gripe and groan here in the USA at our choice between party choices but we are all first and foremost, loyal Americans.

I am missing out completely where Obama has made such a positive impact on his party. He is young and inexperienced with no record at all, except as a one-term Senator from Illinois who can spout off plenty as to what he would do or not do with nothing whatsoever to back it up. Elizabeth Edwards continues to do super-dooper in her role as cancer victim who chooses to fight on in order to get her husband into the White House. I predict Danny Glover was the nail in his coffin nonetheless. No matter what our affiliation to a political party, we are first and foremost patriotic American citizens. Geraldo Rivera continues to tick me off with his mouthing-off about the failure of the immigration bill to sail through in our nation’s Capitol. I really don't know what his beef is, but I can say that he is such a minority in his opinion that it is hardly worth mentioning. The American public voiced its opinion and the members of our government had better listen. We are, after all, those who put them in office and we are certainly the ones to take them out. Actually, no one is jumping for joy with who we have right now. Nancy Pelosi is about as dim as they come to say, "We have many arrows in our quiver, and we are sharpening them.” Give me someone who is to tough as far as the War on Terror is concerned. No matter what, we cannot afford to lose this war. We owe it to those who will come after us, just as those who have gone before us did. We do after all, SUPPORT THE TROOPS!

P.S. It is a continual puzzle to me about our fascination and regard for Al Gore. Today's report that he received an advanced copy of the last episode of the Sopranos absolutely backs up my opinion of a Barbie and Ken White House. The gall of Gore to ask and the stupidity of the authority that granted this request stuns me. We, the people, get really tired of this kind of pandering. Gore and Tipper should be ashamed that they feel so above us average people and that is THE INCONVENIENT TRUTH, BIG SHOT!
