John Edwards is doing what comes naturally for him. He is proposing to get into the Strategic Home Heating Oil Reserve in order to lower home heating costs for the low income people. Our Strategic Reserve includes every commodity that is essential for the nation to be able to carry on in case of an emergency. It is simply an insurance plan...life insurance for the USA.
When a person builds a 29,000 sq. ft. home, it takes a lot of energy to keep it warm and cool. In the first place no family on earth needs a home that big. When are we going to hit on the waste of these kinds of things? Homes that are mansions. Homes that cost more per day to heat or cool than most people use in a year. Is there no shame to this lavish spender? If Edwards is really concerned about the poor, he should never have foreclosed on homes where the owners have been late on payments because of Hurricane Katrina. He is the man that spends $400 for a haircut and God only knows how much for his hair stylist to travel or otherwise be ready to attend him at a moment’s notice. In other words, he’s part of Mr. Edwards’s entourage. I wish we could find out just what all the fat cats feel they need in order to survive.
Gas prices and gas taxes are the lowest in Washington DC than any other place in the country. Now that means my tax dollar has to go to support what they themselves will not pay for in government services; therefore, my tax dollar must be used. It seems to me that Mr. Edwards considers any reserve in any capacity as his or his fellow candidates’ duty to find a way to get access to it.
In my opinion, a person can best be judged by observing how they treat their fellowman in day to day actions. John and Elizabeth are despised by their neighbors. Now why is that? We have a neighbor who is detested by all of our other neighbors for blocks around. This is the same neighbor that I had to call animal control in order to stop them from bringing their dog to our front yard to poop. I have always said that I will have one more butt kicking because I won’t be able to avoid taking it upon myself to correct a situation on my own. At my age and with recent health problems, it would not take much to do just that. I stay away from people like this. I do not enjoy being around them, though I have been known in my younger days to have been involved in a tussle or two.
My mother used to tell the story of my wonderful brother, the eldest living sibling, attending his first day of school. Mickey was being chased by a bully coming home that day. Bennie (my younger brother—the three of us were truly stair steps with only eighteen months separating each of us) and I were looking out the screen door, waiting for our hero to get home. Mother said as soon as Bennie and I saw the situation that we ran right at that bully and then the three of us beat the tar out of that bully. You might say I was a part of Mickey's Strategic Reserve. Now my folks were smart savvy people but they both believed that sometimes you have to fight for your rights. I hate to think what would have happened to us if we started a fight on our own, but we learned pretty early in life that we were not to run. I had the same thing happen with Lisa. A couple of girls would make her miserable after school. They were bullies. Female bullies are the worst. That is why it's called a cat fight with all that scratching and pulling hair. It was not in my home training to cat fight. Pretty easy lesson that my dad taught me: if it was inevitable that the fight was going to take place then the best thing to do is double up your fist and go for the nose. I exhausted every avenue to help Lisa with this problem in a lady like fashion. I was just so sick and tired of her coming in with a broken heart and dreading school that I finally told her the rule with the bully is whip his butt. Well she did and in that one instance, we lived happily ever after. Kayla had a little girl jump her and Lord knows she had never had to take up for herself. She confided to me that her mother gave her permission to call the little girl a naughty name. I took Kayla aside and told her the fist to the nose strategy. Sometime, somewhere it will happen and it’s good to know how to at least try and take care of yourself.
Just what a person really needs should be sufficient. Al Gore does not need a private jet in order to gad about playing the part of God and controlling the weather. He does not need to put into action the buying up of carbon credit to solve the problem of global warming, the first reason being, there is no such credits in the world. We are trading air. Get over that bridge in Arizona; try buying a tornado or a rain for that matter. You just cannot. It is impossible. We cannot farm our way out of global warming. It would take way more water than we have. Ask Georgia about that particular shortage. It is a biggy. The rain can only come from the real Rain Man. In the end we stand helpless without God. Now John Edwards is not the first to use this vote getting opportunity. Breaking out the strategic reserve. Clinton did the same thing even though home heating was not all that high. It is called “buying votes.” No other name for it. I think the poor people have caught on. The fat cats are for the fat cats. They care nothing about really poor people. If they did care they would give our military whatever it takes to win the War on Terror. They would stop building 29,000 square foot homes and flying in private jets. They would not use way more than their fair share of our essential gas, electricity, etc. They would be a part of the human race that had respect for the rights of others. There is such a thing as rich white trash. These fat cats are just the same kind of person my neighbor is. The kind that will bring the dog to do his job in my front yard. That is what Al Gore and John Edwards and anyone else that lives that way are, just filthy White Rich Trash.
