Lisa's Christmas Jewell Bits: 10 days before Christmas

by Lisa Jewell

10 is a good number, you feel you can still breathe and sit down to read a few lines either from the newspaper with all the gloom and doom or maybe thumb through the circulars of bargains or your catalog to get ideas for the rest of your loved ones on your list. Hint: Toys for Tots or your local church for that special boy or girl that could use some cheer; there are all kinds of charities for this time of year. Anyway, we still feel like we can wiggle, just remember it will get tighter each day.

My fridge door looks like the bottles of condiments can wiggle. All the, “that sounds good I think I will buy it…only $2.29, that’s not bad.” Opened, tasted, thinking wellll - - maybe someday, but 2 years later naaaah; money thrown in the trash. Hey it keeps America going and that is good. Hasn’t Christmas turned into a buying thing? Money circulating, which is good. The true meaning of Christmas is what brings us together with love and sharing. HE is the reason for this season.

Hint, mom yours and Jerry’s present had to be wrapped from the roll of paper, not the sections. Tip: keep Christmas receipts all in an envelope so if need be, gifts can be returned. My goodies list looks like chicken scratch because I got that accomplished at the store today. Time for the baking to begin! Oh, that means dishes to clean and put up and fill the fridge again. History repeats itself, but housework repeats itself also. Off to wrap a present and fill out another card. Life is Good. Tip: get longer sticky note pads for this week as more will be added for your daily to do list.
