Yes, a little behind on posting my precious sister’s bits, so I ordered them as thus. Merry Christmas. Hurry! -dm
5 Days Before Christmas
Have all your packages been wrapped? Mine neither. No, really I hope you’re a little farther ahead than I. I have had a little setback. Husband and child were both sick. It creeped me out so I didn’t do any cooking. I was scared I would be next. I slept in the living room away from everybody. Isn’t that how you feel when the first person gets sick, it’s kinda like a, oh-no when will it be my turn? So you sorta prepare yourself in case it happens. When you’re first, you don’t do that, you fall dead into your tracks and accept it like a man, or woman should I say, but not first, you wonder and worry. Hint: Put on antibacterial soap often and when you hear a cough, walk the other way while you hold your breath. Tip: Have you tried Ziacam at the first sign of a cold, hey so far it has worked wonders for me, even my husband who thinks I’ll believe anything has resorted to using it. He does owe me an apology for saying how stupid I was for believing it. He said I must not have been getting a cold in the first place.
My family will be shocked to find out that I’m not baking this year, except for my Lebkuchen. I think my husband will be making dessert for Christmas dinner. 3 reasons why I’m not baking: broke for one, no time in which to do it. Before age 50 I would stay up late, cook and cook and cook, then have huge pans and many utensils to clean along with the baking sheets and sink and cabinet. Then go melt into bed. You know it’s not to appealing the next day either. Tip: use the junk mail credit cards, or used up gift cards to scrape pots and pans, around your faucet area or sing or stove top. And thirdly, baking just didn’t fit in.
I’m about to go and wrap some gifties for my first Christmas tomorrow night. Hint: push back cuticles while in the tub or shower. My husband still has all his gifts to wrap and believe me he has a ton. I told him he was on his own. Maybe he can sweet talk his daughter. Hint: Pray for the UPS man to deliver your last gifts, the weekend is approaching so you’re wondering, do they work Monday, Christmas Eve? I hope. Onward my friends.
4 Days Before Christmas
Is all your wrapping paper put up or pushed in a corner? because you will need it for another package going to another festivity. Mine is pushed! I knew that my husband would sweet talk our daughter into wrapping. She said that he asked her to wrap a gift for mom. Then they kept coming out one by one. Which is good for me, huh? I stayed up until one o'clock this morning so I could get all mine wrapped and be out of sight. If ya catch the drift, but tonight before my sister and brother-in-laws wonderful Christmas warming I saw Kayla was in need of help getting her last few gifts wrapped, I sat down and helped her out.
Where did you learn the art of gift wrapping? Watching your mom, grandmother or the clerk from the store? Hint: They say over 2 billion is spent on wrapping paper alone. Keeps America going, and more added to your Waste Management bills; which guess you’re kicked in both chins.
Is your baking done for Christmas? My pans are still very cold, my ingredients lonely in the cabinet, but hey, day 3 tomorrow, more to accomplish. Time still on your side for the last part of your lists. It isn't over till it is over, so onward my wonderful and Christmas pals. Talk to ya tomorrow between pans. Tip: soak pans with a stuck on mess for an hour or two. Have a toddy while the process is in action, while looking at those nails that will soon be glittering.
