Virgie Bell's View: Starry Eyed

Oprah "$$$$$" Winfrey - Selling herself
Barbra Streisand - whining and opining

The stars came out in politics yesterday, and of course, I listened and watched as Oprah made big issue of the fact that it was the first time in her whole entire life she had ever endorsed a candidate. This all is just great as far as it goes. I do remember right after 9/11 when she was asked by the President to support our country in a show of support and her reply was that she had a show and a career to attend to. On that day, my opinion for her went into the toilet. I mean, there were over three thousand killed on that tragic and horrible day, and she, in her little liberal intolerance, refused to support the American people who had made her rich and famous.

Oprah is a legend in her own time. She represents in every way everything I was taught not to do. I don't know what her education consists of. I do know she has a following that I will never comprehend. Teenaged pregnancy, giving a child up, refusing to be involved in a marriage, yet declaring she is not gay. Black, overweight, she declares she will never diet again as it just does not work, then praises a new diet the next week. I will say that she has been able to go against any and all the rules that have been bedrock of the country I hold so dear. So no, I am no Oprah fan.

The candidate she stands behind has been smart enough to keep his white roots completely hidden, even though he was loved and raised by that part of his heritage. I don’t want anyone on this ticket to win the office of President. One will run for that party, and I do hope it is Obama that comes out on top for his party. Oprah, for all her loud and patriotic talk, still hold s an appeal to a lot of the people who watch those Jerry Springer type shows, and for the most part, are able to show just how ignorant the people of the white race are. She exploits our flaws and when she stands up for someone who is white, it is usually a member of the Hollywood set known for the average fifth grade mentality. No, I am not an Oprah fan, but when it comes to that, then I am more her fan than I am of Barbara Streisand, and certainly more than for the black actor who came out for John Edwards. I helped make Danny Glover rich and famous. He's an admirer of Hugo Chavez, the Castro want-to-be.

Anyone that expected George Bush to come into this war with any great knowledge of how to conduct it should look at the facts. He was a Texas governor, owned a baseball team, and the son of a rich man who was also thrust into a war. The difference in them, the elder Bush did fight for his country when we were bombed at Pearl Harbor. He fought gallantly and he ran Desert Storm and Desert Shield with absolute greatness.

I can say with certainty for our current president is that he did not throw any of his medals over the fence of the White House. No doubt, Dad would have kicked his butt over the moon; no one doubts the patriotism of George the Elder. Ms. Streisand has never been for anyone unless they were for her party, a party that has refused to give our military any backing at all, and one that has called them cold blooded killers of innocent women and children.

Old Dennis Kuchini has Willie Nelson for his backing, but I simply won't give him any credit for anything and just hope he goes home to his hot new love interest until he again runs for president. The result of all this is that I have finally come up with the one that I hope wins the right to run on the Democratic ticket. I guess I will hope for Obama to get that and just maybe he can bring his white family out of the closet, then again, maybe he won't.

SUPPORT THE TROOPS!
