It is just the funniest thing how much we really need each other on this blog. Yours truly writes everyday about something and most of it is not very cheerful. This is the idiot season you know, what with the Presidential Campaigners and the constant bull that comes in. You can come in with minus 10 points and still tell everyone just how great the surge in the momentum is and really wonderful it is to be among the top 500 winning with 499 by just a hair. This with a margin of error. Do some people just love to get up early and stay up late to be in one town or another for years? Sleeping in a different bed each night (yes, I know but Bill Clinton does not count). Can power and money really mean that much to some people? But then of course it does. But today I really got a kick out of the comments on the picture with Lisa. I always get a good laugh when Christy sends a joke. Where she finds such funny stuff I don't know and it looks like Ray falls into the same category.
You know my life sucks when the only break I get from dirty politics and head shaving pop tarts is to go have surgery. But that seems to be my life and having it suck big green ones looks to be ahead. Here is the thing...we cannot afford more books for me to read...Ditto, newspapers, magazines and millions of catalogs in the mail. Why do I feel so compelled to look at each page, review each write up, and check prices? Today I have finally figured it out. Everyone who checks out this blog does all the fun stuff and in De’on’s case, fuzzy stuff. It is because that I do the other stuff. I check out the background of some of the ones who long for fame and fortune. To tell the truth I am so stunned that the folks in Iowa would choose Barack Obama, until I look at what they had to choose from. Then I realize that I would have just had to stay at home on this Caucus. It will finally be that I no longer must apologize to you, dear reader, because I would not have been guilty of giving any of them a vote on anything. The most amazing thing to me is that anyone in the whole world would vote for them on anything. Well, OK I would vote for John Edwards to be on a chain gang. Stuff like that. Sure...anyone with a lick of sense would do that. But vote for a man who refuses to salute the United States Flag? No way. But I have read his stuff so many times even I am sick of it.
The issue today would be why Huckabee? I don't mean anything by that except I have a problem understanding why a Baptist Preacher would even consider running for the highest office in the world. Have you really ever thought about how corrupt the world of politics is? Winston Churchill said once that the truth was too precious without having it buffered with lies all around. This was in preparing for the Normandy invasion. A corpse was taken out of the morgue, dressed in military garb with false papers in his pocket about how the invasion was somewhere besides Normandy.
Deception and propaganda are part of the rules to win a war. I have said that I think the wealthy and the highly educated should be right up there in that world, the other half of us just want to watch the play-offs, take painting lessons, or read. There are also those who get tattoos and shave their heads and wouldn't be caught dead in a voting booth. It has nothing to do with race either. There are just some things we will not do. We will not vote for anyone whom Sean Penn recommends. We will not give Hugo Chavez a little kiss on the cheek. Just some things are beneath us. Now the poll numbers for the Democratic Party were way higher than for the Republicans. It is still that same old silent majority. Some people just want to vote, they like another little holiday. They would love a Happy Monday. And Tuesday Appreciation day. Then some are like me. Who needs to go and change parties on paper? It is that old voting booth that counts and what you do there. Your vote and nothing else out of you for four more years. Here is the thing. We have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince. Now I really do believe that the public is much smarter than we are given credit for. I really do.
I have voted for one Sunday school teacher and what a joke that was. The most I got was the excitement of watching Brother Billy drink beer. While on the side, I got to watch our Embassy Workers held captives by Iran for over a year while my President sat on the sidelines and sold the Peoples Yacht. The only blasted one that ever was mine and ours. As I said before, the garage sale President. Yuck. Again I am sorry dear reader, because I was loyal to my party and not to my country. Now neither party can hold my foot to the fire. Not anymore. I will have a wait and see attitude before I pull that plug on the life support device of my country. If I had to vote for Obama, then I would feel that I had done just that.
