A little F.Y.I.

I got to thinking the other day..."I wonder how many people actually know what "GUNS UP" means?" So I decided to write my first blog letting people know. Well to the best of my knowledge it started in the Vietnam war. It could have possibly been earlier, if so let me know. It was the shout that the point man, platoon sergeant, or anyone for that matter would yell to get the Machine Gunners that was attached to the platoon up to where they were needed. Sometimes this would mean the Gunners would have to run or sprint for a long distances, but (in my opinion) is what separated us from other infantrymen. Here we are with this huge weight and ammo on us and we have a smile on our faces when we have to sprint 50 or more yards, all because we'll get to show our expertise off a little. It does sound a little like we're full of our selves, but hey, what would you expect, HA HA.

I would expect nothing less of such an awesome group. And thinking about those smiles makes me smile.

Thanks, David! This is great!
